The track is about a mile north of the town on the coast road. The course of a public footpath runs across it. The OS 1:10,000 map states that the track is disused. It maybe something to do with the Joint Service Mountain Training Centre, Morfa Camp, TYWYN, LL36 9BH which is about a mile away. There are two places called Tywyn in Wales - the other one is near Conwy. To confuse matters more there is also a Tygwyn station further up the line from Tywyn.
