The complex opened in late 2006 and features this indoor 6 lane 200m track with a 130m indoor sprint straight and an indoor throws area plus an outdoor eight lane 400m track with covered seating for 350. It is on the site that was originally proposed for the 2005 World Championships. It was officially opened by Tessa Jowell on 16th January 2007.
