The AW 1962 list of tracks mentions a public track in Darlington associated with the Darlington Rolling Mill Local Authority, which is probably this one. Reports put it in poor condition, and it was never converted to 400m. Longfield School use it, as did Darlington Harriers until the synthetic track in Darlington opened in November 1999.
