The 2026 race will again start and finish in the Batts riverside park area. The race is all on roads apart from a very short section on grass in the Batts. Runners pass the spectacular River Swale Waterfalls before crossing the river at Green Bridge and climbing Sleegill. A quick look back over the shoulder from Sleegill offers fine views of the castle. Runners follow a short circuit round Catterick Garrison then return into Richmond, where they circle Richmond Castle on Castle Walk before enjoying a fast downhill finish into the Batts park area below the castle. All finishers receive a commemorative T-shirt (see note!) Facilities: Water station (5k and finish) Distance markers First Aid Bag drop (at owner's risk) Public toilets Please note: Competitors must be 16 years of age or over. Those aged 16 and 17 must obtain the permission of their parent or guardian, who should submit this form electronically on their behalf. No headphones will be allowed, except for England Athletics approved bone conducting headphones. This race will have a cut-off time of 1hr 45. In the opinion of the organiser, the nature of the course makes this race unsuitable for wheelchair athletes, and runners with pushchairs/buggies or dogs. Finishers T-shirts can only be guaranteed for entries made before 21st September 2026.
