More about Royal Forest of Dean College Track
This running track near Coleford hosted North Gloucs and Four Counties League meetings through the 1960s and 70s. The surface is redgra, the length still 440y, and the infield another redgra pitch. Condition is good, though most field event facilities look disused, and the host club are looking into putting in some synthetic runways. The straights have no permanent curbs. Ownership sits with the Royal Forest of Dean College, a school, and Five Acres Leisure Centre shares the site. Immediately beyond the back straight is the Forest of Dean Gymnastics & Fitness Centre, which opened in 1998. Sprint races appear to use the back straight, as that's the only one with curbside markings.
