This running track in Bow Common is marked in red on a green macadam rectangular arena. The infield holds two tennis courts and a netball court, also in red. The more northerly straight runs about 105m, extended at both ends, though the only finish line is for 80m races, which would have to be run in the reverse direction down it. The surface is a little uneven and the home straight rises slightly. Lanes are narrower than standard. A synthetic long jump and triple jump runway sits to the side of the track, angled slightly downhill, with a take-off board for the long jump only, as the triple jump take-off positions are painted on. Up to at least 1980 that runway was macadam, with a high jump pit beside it, and the track area was a grass field at the time. The track is on school grounds, next to another macadam rectangular arena used for football and hockey.
