More about National Sports Centre Athletics Stadium
The running track in Douglas opened in September 1991 as a brand new facility. It's identical to Witton Park in Blackburn, built by En-Tout-Cas with an Athlaprene surface. The original name was King George V Park Stadium, after the park it was built in. Resurfacing and remarking in June and July 2001 left an Athlaprene and Polytan combination surface. The athletics events of the 2001 Island Games were held here. There are no other permanent tracks on the Isle of Man.
