Additional Information
The track is near rectangular and effectively has four straights and four corners. It was the base of the now defunct Doncaster Plant Works AC as the works were adjacent to the ground. This club were incorporated into Doncaster & Stainforth AC who currently operate from the track hence the track name. According to the A-Z, Doncaster Plant Works now appears to be British Rail Engineering Sports Ground but that has probably been renamed again to Railtrack something. The track was used for Yorks champs in 1960s and was also the venue of Terry Edmondson's 244.393km 24 hours on 29 May 1988 which is in the UK all-time list. It was still 440y in 1973 but it is not known if it was ever altered to 400m. A 24 hour track race was staged here on 29-30 May 1999.
