The track is in the locality of Harton. A track associated with Mortimer County School is mentioned in the 1962 AW list of cinder tracks which seems to be now Mortimer Comprehensive School, Reading Road, SOUTH SHIELDS, NE33 4UG, telephone 0191 456 6511. This is about half a mile north of the Brinkburn School track but the Mortimer site has a Brinkburn Recreation Ground on the school grounds and a rectangular pitch is shown on the map but there is no track now although an aerial picture shows part of what could be a grassed over bend immediately west of this pitch (grid reference NZ 368651).
