The running track in Cambridge opened with its pavilion in 1994, the first match coming that October. Spurtan V was the original surface, replaced by Spiketop SW in summer 2002, apart from the Ds, which were patched and cleaned. The only viewing area is the pavilion balcony at first floor level. Every throw can be held inside the track arena, as nothing else uses the infield, and there's a practice throwing cage outside the track as well. The surrounds are landscaped, with a 1 km jogging track running round the whole area.
