This track is permanently marked onto an astroturf pitch with blue lines. The pitch was built in late 2001 and the track was marked out in spring 2002. The side nearest the railway has been extended at each end to allow for an extended sprint straight. The site is the playing fields of Wimbledon High School (a girl's independent school) at Nursery Road off Worple Road. This is also the original site of the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships and there is a plaque at the site to note this. Prior to 2001 the area was grass and a 200m track was marked out in the summer. The school is elsewhere at Mansel Road, LONDON, SW19 4AB.
