More about RAF Croughton Track
This running track near Brackley was upgraded from cinder at some point after 2000 and before 2011. As a cinder track it ran 6 lanes all round with a 7 lane straight, so it has effectively lost a lane on both counts. In 2000 it was in poor condition with a fairly overgrown surface. The pole vault runway had been grassed over, though the box remained, and the double-ended long jump and triple jump runway and pits were overgrown and unusable. An uncovered stand seating about 100 stood on each straight, though whether they're still there isn't known. The track is on an RAF base used by the US Air Force.
