This running track in Clydebank was built around 1960 and first known as the Whitecrook Running Track. At the time it counted as a state of the art cinder track with first class field facilities, and Clydesdale Harriers used it. The name changed in the late 1970s to the Whitecrook Community Education Centre Track, following a name change at the centre next door. In 1993 the local council decided upkeep cost too much and leased the whole playing field area to Clydebank Rugby Club for 19 years at a peppercorn rent, at which point Clydesdale Harriers stopped using it. The track grew over, but in 2000 the surface was cleared of weeds, levelled off and topped up with new red blaes, and Clydesdale Harriers are back on it.
