The Reckie is the local name for the Recreation Ground in Mountblow, at the west end of Clydebank. This running track went in immediately after the Second World War, around 1946, and was used for training until about 1960, when the full-size track at Whitecrook, now Clydebank Rugby Club, became available. It's a gravel track that once had fairly good field event facilities, the pole vault pits in particular. The football pitch it surrounded was later widened, and dogs get walked on it. Nobody has run seriously here in 30 years or more. It's rather overgrown now, with only one visible lane, and even that meanders a bit.
