This J shaped running track in Diss opened in 1991. It has a 120m straight, long enough for 110H races, one bend, and a shorter straight of about 57m with a long jump and triple jump pit at one end and a pole vault bed at the other. Lane 1 totals 160m, so races or intervals up to 150m can be held. The plan was to put the track in the centre of the field, but the field slopes, and the whole thing would have needed raising. It went at the top end instead, with only the shorter straight elevated, which unfortunately leaves no room to extend it in future. A one lane 400m grass track is marked out in the middle of the field around the cricket pitch from May to September. Its home straight runs uphill, so the back straight runs down. The discus and hammer cage sits at the opposite end of the field to the J track and is odd in that the larger discus circle stands in front of the hammer one. Neither is in good condition and the landing area slopes downhill. The pavilion at the ground opened in March 1989, a gift to the people of Diss from G.N. Rackham & Sons Ltd.
