Braintree Athletics Track
Athletics and running track in Braintree
This is the current record for Braintree Athletics Track, an 8 lane synthetic track in Braintree, Essex, England. You'll find it at Braintree Leisure Centre, Panfield Lane, Braintree, CM7 1FF. The certificate on file expired on 30 April 2004, so treat any times run here as training times until the venue confirms a newer one. It has floodlighting, so winter evening sessions are on. Braintree & District AC train here, and their sessions are usually the quickest route in if you're new to the venue. Athletics facilities get resurfaced, relit, locked and occasionally closed without much public notice, so this listing is maintained by the people who train on it rather than left to go stale between imports.

More about Braintree Athletics Track
The running track in Braintree opened in 1992, built by Laing with the surfacing done by Recreational Surfaces. Track and Leisure Centre both sit on the grounds of The Tabor High School, which is why availability during school hours needs checking. The internal cages are designed for discus or hammer, but hammer is generally not allowed inside the track arena, after an incident shortly after the track opened when one landed on the track. Athletic Markings Ltd. remarked it in May 2001.
