The original cinder running track in Erith is believed to date from the 1950s. H.E. Construction Services Ltd. upgraded it to a Polytan WS synthetic surface in 1999, following a £1M Lottery award. It opened for training on 10th August, with the opening meeting on 26th September. The straights run slightly longer than standard because of the space available on site. The pavilion, which is separate from Erith Sports Centre, is called The Myra Garrett Pavilion. The infield is a football pitch used by Erith Town FC.
